Merced Systems Awarded Patent for Temporal Specificity
Company receives US Patent No. 7,856,431 B2 for precise data analysis critical to business execution in dynamic organizations
Redwood Shores, CALIF. – March 15, 2011 — Merced Systems, Inc., the leading provider of Performance Management solutions that drive business execution in Sales and Service functions, today announced it has been awarded US Patent No. 7,856,431 B2 for “reporting on facts relative to a specified dimensional coordinate constraint,” or the ability to accurately track metrics in a data model that changes over time.
The patent protects aspects of Merced Systems’ technology for temporal specificity, a one-of-a-kind system for precisely tracking and analyzing the performance of people and processes in a business operation throughout their full lifecycle. For example, if a salesperson transfers groups during a reporting period, sales managers have powerful options for controlling how that person’s sales figures, such as sales commissions, revenue targets and other key performance indicators, factor into their data analysis.
This ability is critical to understanding how entities in dynamic and rapidly changing environments can improve their business execution, including:
- Individual, team, and territory sales and service performance
- Product and channel performance
- Business process effectiveness
- Business contract and third-party relationship performance, such as partnerships
Merced Systems’ patented technology currently allows more than 140 companies around the world to see performance data across multiple dimensions that change over time with fine-grained specificity, rather than a single static snapshot.
