Job Opening: MI Engineer
Position Summary

The position will play a key role in designing and developing the new Merced Intelligence platform that enables customers uncover insights and perform root cause analysis across the business lifecycle. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment. The candidate will be an individual contributor and report to the Director of Engineering.
Primary Responsibilities
- Participate in design and development of Merced’s new Intelligence platform that will provide prebuilt content for sales and service functions to ensure rapid deployment and speed to insight
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to clearly understand business objectives, customer needs, and product requirements
- Define, analyze, and review software architecture and requirements for the new Intelligence platform
- As part of a team, help drive technical design to consensus and approval with cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Five to ten years of software development experience working for a commercial software companies developing complex and scalable applications
- Demonstrated experience in building large-scale enterprise applications using J2EE technologies
- Experience with BI tools such as MicroStrategy, Oracle, Cognos or open source projects like Actuate and Pentaho is highly desirable
- Firsthand experience with data warehousing concepts/methodologies
- Great verbal and oral communication skills
- Work effectively individually as well as collaboratively
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Self starter, fast learner, and hard working
- Readiness to work and collaborate with remote teams
- Sound knowledge of good software development practices
- Ability to give accurate development time estimates, keep projects on track, and give early warning when adjustments are needed
- Comfortable working in a *nix-based development environment
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related fields; advanced degree a plus
- Experience in one or more of the following are pluses: cloud computing, Scrum development process, and Incentive Compensation Management
