Merced Systems Names Paul Melmon as Vice President of Engineering
Merced Systems Develops Management Team to Support Continued Growth
Redwood City, CA, November 3, 2009 - Merced Systems, the leading provider of Sales and Service Performance Management software, today announced the appointment of Paul Melmon as Vice President of Engineering. Melmon joins Merced Systems with over 20 years experience in strategic technical and business alignment, growing technology partnerships, product development, and developing mission critical operations for web based activities.
Most recently, Melmon served as senior vice president of engineering for Hyperic (now part of VMware) where he was responsible for running engineering, support and product management. He was instrumental in bringing agile development to Hyperic and extending Hyperic HQ into a scalable web infrastructure management solution used by several of the largest web properties. He also led and championed the company’s strategic effort to develop for and support the top cloud computing platforms.
During his career, Melmon has held a variety of executive positions including vice president of corporate and business development at Wily, a provider of application management solutions, and CIO at Pets.com. Melmon also worked as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Sutter Hill Ventures and has held engineering and management positions at Wallop Software, Scopus Technology, Sybase and Hewlett-Packard.
